Well, more of the roof structure was installed tonight. Lots of pictures, short description.
The green fiberglass was trimmed off the roof supports. They were then set in place, epoxy was applied to their ends and the forward arch and rear cabin wall and screws were applied. For the forward arch I actually drilled a hole through the front side to put a screw through the back side.
Pretty sneaky eh'? The screw has been countersunk as the screw will be left behind and covered with peanut butter.
Each end of the roof supports was then epoxied, peanut buttered and fiberglassed.
Next up, the Douglas Fir doublers and sides were epoxied, clamped, then screwed together and the clamps removed (except the ones at the front, can't get a screw in there). The doublers run long at the rear as the roof will extend beyond the cabin wall, and they're extra long at the front because I haven't decided how far the roof will extend over the windows yet. :-)
Last, I had some left over peanut butter so I filled the low spot in the cuddy roof and filled the uneven spots on the front.
That was it for tonight. Tomorrow I've got some prep work cutting temporary support pieces for the roof and I may cut and set the first piece of plywood on the cabin roof just to see what it looks like.
