Day 202 - Rebuilding

Work continues in the cabin.

The second seat I built yesterday was taken apart tonight and the width cut down by 1/2". After reassembly I cut some 1/2" wide strips of 1/2" plywood with a five degree angle along one length. The piece of plywood that make up the seat will simply sit on top (although I may use some velcro to hold them down) and the strips were glued on the bottom to guide it into position and hold it in place.

After epoxying the inside joints of the newest seat, peanut butter was made and fillets applied to all the inside joints. The excess peanut butter was used to fill in some knot holes in a piece of plywood and then some more was pushed into some gaps and finally what was left was applied at the back in the transom area. I need to build an area up to sand it back down for shaping. I'll get a picture tomorrow.

Primer was last and several areas were done. The rest of the seat and panels from yesterday were painted...

And the primer was carried forward in the cabin up to the forward cabin wall. The wall wasn't painted as I'll be adding some things to it yet...

The inside and outside of the new seat was done...

And the seat and back panels got a coat.

Long night.
